This band was founded in the UAE in 2014 by a group of musicians across U.A.E that, albeit were performing at corporate and sporting events and at five star hotels regularly, were missing something from their musical lives!
The Swing Revue started with one goal – to deliver a show unlike any other in Dubai. These talented musicians bring swing to life with passion, style and deep knowledge of the genre. Their high energy performances inspired by the 1920’s to the 1950’s light up the room with joyful solos, tight harmonies and expressive delivery!
The band comes from the Philippines, England, Australia and Armenia, and they pay close attention to style and stage presence. Furthermore, thanks to the fun, free-flowing nature of their music and their musical versatility, audiences can expect to see unexpected instruments on stage. Meanwhile, audiences often find themselves dancing the boogie woogie style to tunes from artists such as Louis Prima and The Andrews Sisters – all part of The Swing Revue experience!
Over the past few years, this band has gone from strength to strength across the Middle East. For instance, in 2016, they were nominated for two Timeout Nightlife Awards : Best Dubai Act and Best Gig Under 3,000
Currently, they perform weekly at ‘Jazz@PizzaExpress’ (JLT), pften joined by the talented dancers of Lindy Hop Dubai. As a result, their performance offers an immersive and nostalgic musical experience that continues to captivate audiences week after week.
